David Carter

 

David Carter

David Carter was born in Stanmore, North West London, on 6th March 1944.

He joined 302 Squadron, which was part of 131 Parachute Engineer Regiment (TA) in nearby Kingsbury in 1962 and he became an active parachute engineer in the Squadron. His annual camps after completing recruit and parachute training included a regimental camp in Cyprus in 1963and 44 Airborne Brigade camp in BAOR. For a large part of his working life he was employed by British Telecom. Then for the remainder he was an executive of a finance/banking company and ended up based in the Far East and enjoyed many holidays in Indonesia.

Towards the end of his life he suffered from amyloidosis and he finally died from it on 28th April 2016. He is remembered as a graet, reliable comrade.

He leaves behind his wife, Yvonne, and his daughters Nichola and Heidi and their families in Wiltshire.
