Donald Duncan
Donald served with 3 Troop in 591 (Antrim) Parachute Squadron RE, 6th Airborne Division in Normandy, the Ardennes and the Rhine. After this, he served with 3 Parachute Squadron RE, 5th Independent Parachute Brigade Far East. This took him to India, Singapore, Malaya, Java and finally Palestine, to join the rest of 6th Airborne Division. Eventually he returned home to "Blighty."
Don and one of his sons; Mike, along with Bernie McDonough and son-in-law Tony Williams, were regular attendees' at the Airborne reunion in London each year. Don will be sadly missed this year, but his two sons, Mike and Stewart, will be attending along with Bernie and his son-in-law Tony. Don made it to the "D Day" anniversary in June 1994, where we received the commemorative medal by the French at Troarn.
Don leaves a lovely family, his wife Irene, two sons, five daughters and eighteen grandchildren.
