Albert Markham

Albert served in Palestine with 1st Airborne Squadron RE. He died on 20th August 2012 and his funeral took place at the Chanterlands Crematorium, Hull on September 3rd.

Many members of the Hull branch PRA were in attendance. The Airborne Forces prayer was read by Trevor Wright and the Exhortation by Tony Costello, both veterans of the palestine campaign.

Albert also served in the Merchant Navy in his later years and many old shipmates were present to see him "slip his moorings."

Albert and the late Sid Davies always did a double act at the monthly PRA branch meetings and the annual dinner when they "organised" the raffles. Both were good comrades and are sadly missed.
