Reg Parsons

Reg Parsons - 9 Indep Para Sqn - Died 7th March 2017

Reg joined the Sqn on its return from Suez in 1954 where he was employed as the OCs batman. A talented boxer and footballer he represented the Sqn in the Minor Unit competitions in both sports.

On leaving the Army, Reg took up employment in the building trade eventually setting up his own business.

He became a member of the Chatham branch, but was unable to attend their meetings in later years due the the driving distance from his home in Eastbourne. However he remained a fully paid up member until his death.

Members from the Chatham branch, attired in berets, Sqn ties and blazers attended his funeral.

He is survived by his wife Joyce and his two sons, Kevin and Colin.
