Hi Everyone, especially those who live in the East Midlands. Next year (2026) the AEA Annual General Meeting and John Rock Dinner will be organised by myself, Dave Raes and our wives. We have booked the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham City Centre and look forward to welcoming you all.
At present the East Midlands does not have an AEA branch, however under the new constitution we can form what is known as a ‘Social Branch’. This is an informal group which is held together via a controller and a WattsApp page with the aim of organising get togethers at regular intervals. We can formalise this at a later date if there is enough interest.
I have created a group on WhatsApp and posted the link above. If you live in the East Midlands please join the group via the button below
Provided there is enough interest, I would like to organise the first East Midlands get together sometime towards the end of July or in August.
Please come and join us and make this a group for all generations and Squadrons of the Airborne Engineer community in the East Midlands

Added a new page called "Shop Hub" The purpose of this page is to promote both the AEA Shop and 23 PRI Shop on one page. Currently (as at 2nd April, while testing) access to this page is only available from the site Home Page. Once we're happy with process, layout and content we'll get access to the Shop Hub available from all site pages
Development of the 23 Regt PRI shop is going well. Our target date for completion has been pushed back due to 23 Regt leave period in April. However we are still planning to go live in May 2025

Site development going well, only Roll of Honour content and photos to add. Additional digitising of Journal content will be carried out ASAP, it's not a difficult operation but it is a time consuming one. Watch this page for further updates

Following the vote in favour of merging the AEA with the REA(A) to form 'The AEA a National branch of the REA' the executive committee is now working on the Merger. Monthly zoom meetings to track progress are in place. The aim is to have the merger complete by the end of the AGM Weekend in October 2025. This letter prepared by the national executive committee will give you an update of key strands of work currently in progress.

Our Shop Manager has attended an intial meeting with key personnel from 23 Para Engr Regt, to discuss bringing their PRI shop online. We will keep you posted on progress

This site is a new design project, which has a basic structure but is still very much in development. Look out for updates via this page or on the AEA National Facebook Group. The aim is to create a "responsive" site, that is to say it will automatically adapt to the device it is viewed on, whether it's a large, high res monitor, a tablet or a smartphone
